How Long Does A Realtor Have To Mark A Property As Pending ...

questions

Q: By law, how long does a Realtor have to put a ?pending sale? notice on the website once an offer has been accepted?
?Tam, Amarillo, TX

A: There is no law, but as a Realtors, the agent agrees to abide by a Code of Ethics. The code and MLS rules typically indicate the pending status must be updated within 48 hours of acceptance of an offer.

This is done to prevent unscrupulous agents from allowing the home to remain as ?active? then try to ?bait and switch? callers to other homes as a way to get new business. If you feel this is taking place, report the agent to the local board of Realtors.
